The following pages represent the musical composition that has bee undertaken between 1987 in continuo. I have created some 40 or so original pieces forming about five opuses. This categorization is an ongoing process. the first pieces presented are from opus I.
Atma is the first stage level of realization of the spirit soul. The second stage is Paratma or Godhead witnessing the acts of the individual Jiva or Atma. The Third stage is Bhagavan or the Realization that God is a Person.
The following pieces are dedicated to A.C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada.
Opus I
The first piece is Atma I. It is an easy piece reflective of the 1600s. The title explains itself.
The second Piece is Atma II. It is a variation of a Motet. It is a modal piece and also similar to Atma I.
The Third Piece is Atma III. This simple piece is a Classical - Baroque piece in the style of Brahms and Bach.
The fourth Piece is Atma IV. This piece was written for a Counterpoint Class. The grade was terrible because it is so short. On the guitar it is played with a repeat and quite beautiful.
The fifth piece is Atma V. This guitar piece has an interesting bridge with the use of chords figured under the melodic minor scale.
The sixth piece is Atma VI. This is an invention derived piece with several entries. The upper line has a pleasing flute like quality.
The seventh piece is Motion Perpetual which is my signature piece. This invention is based loosely on a Bach Form.
